Where’s The Money? Episode #10 – Paper

Welcome to our NEW newest show: “Where’s The Money?”. It is here we try to decipher the way some of the more popular mobile applications and services will generate cold hard cash. The industry is full of promise but only a handful of companies will crack the buck. “Where’s The Money?” is where we put them to the test.

Today we talk Paper, the hot new iPad app from FiftyThree, the brains behind Mircosoft’s vaporware Courier project. Two weeks after its release, Paper has already surpassed 1.5 million downloads and 7 million created pages. But that’s not why Paper is on the show this week.

Paper represents a new breed of apps built for the post-PC era, as tablets evolve from content consumption to content creation devices. These post-PC apps come with post-PC business models. Rob and I dig deep into Paper to understand if content creation apps can also create money.
