Why would you not focus on the mobile space these days if you are an investor. That’s the question that Doug Renert was asked as he and his partners at Tandem Entrepreneurs were raising their recent fund. That great question turned into action and Tandem is now focused exclusively on funding companies in the mobile world.
I asked Doug to come to UNTETHER.tv to help us all understand what kinds of companies they are looking to invest in, areas they in mobile they are focusing on and what their process is once they’ve put money into a company.
**If you are interested in applying, head to their site but do it quickly as the deadline for this cohort is fast approaching.

About Doug Renert
Always focuses on building value through relationships. Never stops studying the art of the deal. He started his career as a corporate attorney with Gray Cary (now DLA Piper), where he was first exposed to startups and quickly learned that he could be of more use on the business side of the table. He then spent eight years at Oracle, where he caught the “business creation” bug, buying and building businesses to catapult Oracle into new markets. He left Oracle in 2005 to build Tello, a venture-backed company delivering IP communications services to business users, from the ground up.
Doug has a JD and MBA from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA from Princeton University.
