Location-based services are starting to play a relevant role in marketing around the world and as the number of services and the volume of users grow, so must the voice of the community grow with it and that’s where the Location-Based Marketing Association will be.

Headed up Asif Khan, a veteran in the sales and marketing world, the LBMA is launching to become the voice for nascent industry and, while its home-base is here in Canada, the aspirations are global.

I caught up with Asif about a week before the official launch of the association to talk about the industry as a whole and to understand why the LBMA is so important and what entrepreneurs, marketers and business types can expect from him and his group in the coming months.
