Have you ever had that moment of doubt as you hand over your credit card to an unknown bartender or server in order to pay your bill or open a tab? The restaurant industry is one of a very few number of occasions where you are physically separated from your plastic for an extended period of time, increasing the risk of theft.
This is the problem TabbedOut is trying to fix.
TabbedOut isn’t just about sending money to the establishment or another alternative way to pay for your goods, Rick Orr and his team have integrated their mobile software right into the point of sale systems installed in the majority of restaurants today allowing you to settle your tab right from your smartphone – oh, and your credit card? Stored locally on the device and never in jeopardy of being stolen.
Is this another of the first steps required to finally get to the mobile wallet? I’d love your thoughts on this!
