Getting press for the most underrated apps and a call for innovative mobile companies

The greatest part of the mobile industry is the breathtaking pace of innovation and disruption we are witnessing on any given day. This is also the curse of the industry as well for the simple reason that a lot of the great ideas, software and companies who are solving a real need today are being overlooked – know what I mean?

A different type of mobile awards ceremony
Well, if you fall into this category and if you believe your product is worthy but underrated, do I have an opportunity for you – the “Most Underrated App Award” of 2010. This award is being organized by our good friends at Mobility PR and the winner will win $2000 in public relations services to help kick-start awareness in 2011.

There are some rules that can be found at the official website but here are the guts:

  • The app must have averaged fewer than 100 downloads per day (a rate less than 36,500 total downloads for all of 2010).
  • Apps must be free or sell for less than $10 per download.
  • Apps must have launched in a public app store between January 1, 2010 and September 30, 2010, and must be currently available for download.

To enter, fill out this simple form and start getting the recognition you deserve.

A call for mobile companies to be interviewed on
I’m looking. Looking for great mobile companies to be interviewed on and you guys are the best source of referrals I know. If you are working for, with or know of a company that you feel needs to get known and has a great story, drop me a line and I’ll get them on the show.
