m-Pulse Episode #9: Developer connector Caroline Lewko, social messaging apps “lost” carriers $13.9bn + mobile social at SXSW
Welcome to our new show – m-Pulse – the show that explores the most important ideas not getting their fair shake in other outlets, brings in depth interviews with the minds shaping the mobile industry and highlights some of the companies or products that have moved the industry forward.
Our second episode of developer month brings us to the community maker Caroline Lewko, Chief Connector at Wireless Industry Partnership (WIP). She and her team have just released their latest book, the Mobile Developer’s Guide to the Parallel Universe. The focus this time around is on the business of mobile – how to market, promote, fund and sell apps for developers.
In our “big ideas” segment, we talk two sides of the social and mobile connection. First up, Peggy dives deeper in the the impact that social messaging apps are having on carrier revenue and Rob highlights the “Highlight” social trend being seen at SXSW with companies like Highlight, Glancee and Banjo.
Once again we raise our Goblet of Rock to an unsung hero that is changing the face of mobile and today we raise it for Snackr – the company disrupting terrestrial radio.
